Hanalei Town Is Open!
We've pulled together as a community after Hurricane Lowell to ensure Hanalei is ready to welcome visitors safely. While we celebrate being open, we ask for your respect and understanding for our friends and families who are still putting their lives back together, fixing their homes, and recovering. Essential utility crews and repair teams are also actively working to replace power lines and restore services-please give them the space they need to work safely.
Here's What You Need To Know Before Visiting
Hanalei is Open: Hanalei Town is open and welcoming visitors. Come explore town, enjoy a meal, shop local, and support the businesses that make Hanalei special. Your support means more than ever right now.
Enjoy Hanalei Bay: Hanalei Bay remains one of the most beautiful places in the world. Enjoy the beach, take in the views, and help us care for this special place while our community continues to recover.
Shop & Dine Local: Many local businesses are open and ready to welcome you. Eating, shopping, and spending locally is one of the simplest ways visitors can support our community during recovery.
Hanalei is the Turnaround: Ha'ena State Park is closed until further notice. Visitor access beyond Hanalei Town is currently restricted to residents and essential workers. Please respect these restrictions and do not attempt to travel farther west.
Give Recovery Crews Room: Cleanup and rebuilding efforts are still underway. Please stay clear of marked recovery and work zones and give crews, equipment, and affected residents the space they need to work safely. Follow
Local Guidance: Conditions can continue to change during recovery. Pay attention to posted signs, road restrictions, and instructions from local authorities—they’re there for your safety and the safety of our community.
Lead with Aloha: Hanalei is happy to welcome you, but many of our neighbors are still recovering from Hurricane Lowell. A little patience, kindness, and respect goes a long way right now.
